Chris, what you described on the podcast today re: the covid feeling, is also how I've felt about this virus. It's so bizarre, it's mental, it's an energy, you feel this sense of doom and like something is horribly wrong, and yet nothing in particular seems wrong. I had a fever, and I was supremely tired, but these things would not usually bother me if it wasn't because there was this all-engulfing anxiety to it. A LOT of people have felt it, it's not a regular virus.
Best wishes for a full recovery. (I’d wish you a speedy one, but it seems that ship has sailed.)
I tested positive back in June and had a shitty week, but feel like I got off easy. The familiar constellation of symptoms also convinced me I’d had a more severe undiagnosed case the first week of 2020, before C-19 was officially recognized as having arrived in the states. That realization was oddly comforting: If I’d gotten over it pre-vaccine, fully vaxed me should be OK. And I was, eventually.
Nevertheless it was a weird, scary and humbling experience catching it after carefully dodging it for years. Hang in there, take the time you need to heal and steer clear of equine medications.
Oh man, I am sorry to hear about you having some health problems ( I know we are supposed to say health "challenges," but who cares). A few years ago I had a bit of a health issue myself and I know what you are going through. I wish you and Anya well and I am sending positive vibes out into the universe for you.

Somehow I've managed to avoid the Covid all this time—even at the retreat with you! Any idea where you got it... LA I suppose?
I just got back to Sausalito after leaving Montana, dashing south to Idaho Falls (Anya said that's a favorite spot of yours ;) to get out of the smoke, then into Nevada to some hot springs there, then to the Inyo FS on the east side of the Sierras for three nights. Got in a fantastic hike up on the Mammoth Crest, some more hot springs, and then finally hit the gas in What Does It Mean To Be a Van? for home yesterday.
It was a blast meeting you and Anya and Cameron and his crew, and everyone else at the retreat. I learned a lot, and also realized that I could have been better prepared. I've got some questions for you next time we manage to rendezvous. Thanks again for pulling that together and offering something unique.
Since you said that it includes the "the most accurate description of Sex at Dawn" that you've ever read, I can't not share my piece about my experience at the retreat here as well. It was a great experience, very worthwhile, and I appreciate your effort in showing up despite your reduced energy and spinning vortex of head-fog.
Hey Chris, congrats on a successful retreat - sounds like something that's multiplied the joy you've already experienced watching your 'kids' shape others' worlds in a positive way.
The surroundings look great and there's nothing more powerful / moving than meeting folks you can let your guard down around a little. Hopefully the stars align and I will have that experience one day in the future with you and the other tangentialists.
I resonate with much of what you've written here particularly thinking about what really matters in life and mistakes when illness makes us pause for thought. It's touching your audience crossed your mind and you've used some of your strength to give us an update!
I'm on episode 46 of your pod as we speak - dilligently working my way through to the latest eps when I get a chance. This puts me somewhere in 2013 but the gems remain relevant as ever. (The silver lining of this pause is I can catch up a little!)
Best of luck shaking off the remnants of covid - glad to hear you feel a bit better.

Hey Chris, I hope you are feeling better. Look forward to hearing more from you. Best, Steve
I feel for you.
I'm grateful to hear you're prioritizing your health. Really hoping all is well.
Heal up soon, buddy!
Or don't. Whatever.
Much love.
Sending healing vibes!
