Hey all. Well, the longest day has passed and we’re coming back around toward autumn again. I don’t know if it’s my new base in the mountains or my ever-increasing awareness that the number of spins around the sun remaining for me is fewer than before, but I feel a deeper appreciation for the changing season (and weather) than ever before. There’s something so calming in these reminders of our own insignificance. Crestone Conglomerate, the rocks lying all over the place in this area were formed around 350 million years ago. Read that number as many times as you like, you’ll never wrap your head around it. We’re surrounded by the incomprehensible, the inscrutable, the intangible, like fish in an aquarium.
I hope you’re feeling fine and that it’s been a good summer for you thus far. If you’re looking for something to jolt you out of the doldrums, you might consider joining us in Montana in a few weeks. If you’ve already registered, but haven’t sent in your payment, better get on that. It’s crunch time.
Sending you lots of that salty summer love.
