Hipcrime Vocab is one of the best writers I've ever followed. Illuminates very well so many facets of modern existence and the insanity of it all.

Needs vs DEMANDS!

In a word, “wealth” causes poverty. I was waiting for the point that money has become necessary for happiness because we now have to buy the things which make us happy that it wasn’t necessary for us to buy in the past.

That’s the most important thing to emphasize, and the corollary, that it is understood or believed by the ideologists for western industrial and technological systems (I won’t call it capitalism, tired of that vague word), where everything is forcibly for sale, and by the rulers of those systems, that in order for them to enjoy the things that make humans happy, everyone else has to work to produce those things for them or they fear they’d have to produce it themselves and so would no longer be happy, because then they’d have to work the same bullshit jobs that most people cannot avoid, and be submerged in the master-servant relationships by another name which they entail. They think, not incorrectly, that they’ve won the game of avoiding “work” and they want to keep it that way, with more or less degrees of consciousness.

Thus, those with power and money are not blindly failing to grasp common sense by perpetuating the wrong economic thinking and the societies it supports. It is just the opposite. So, they don’t need a tutorial on what makes humans happy with a “can’t you see it?” mode of solicitude, unfortunately. The make over of the world will require the overthrow of the reigning international oligarchy.

Thanks for sharing!

I recently moved from the burbs to the woods. I always appreciate these tidbits of deeper wisdom that affirm my genuine resolution. A lot of my contacts don’t understand my disregard of monetary wealth and sincere joy with less … I like this tribe you share. Thank you.

The cleaning lady. Hope ABCD, your singing cricket, is playing some tunes!
