If everything goes well with my move down to Oregon, I’m planning on seeing her in November in both Portland and Seattle. I really really do like her work. Love her attitude.

"Have joy." That's the message the Visitors gave Whitley Strieber when he became ruined and lost everything, including his apartment in Manhattan and the beloved wood cabin where all the experiences he described in his book Communion took place. He was going through one of the worst moments of his life, and a voice from across the other side of the universe reminded him to have joy.

Sitting here in Vermont, sipping my tea and getting ready to go to work. My newsfeed is all school shootings and politics. The usual “heinous fuckery most foul” to quote Pocket the Fool. This post made my morning. Thanks Chis and Carsi!

“Kill your parents!”

I’m currently hanging in Massillon Ohio near where I grew up. Not been here for 20 years came up here from Mexico heading back to New York after a memorial service on Sunday. Hanging out with my 84 year old aunts who leaves the fear machine on all day long.

But I scored some nice Ohio medical weed from an old friend who I hadn’t seen in 50 years. I’ll slide through the next few days of the TV virtual reality experience suburban America.

I saw Carsie play in Milwaukee a few months ago. I don't really listen to her records that much, its good, but there is a lot of good and great music out there. But seeing her live, wow, such a presence! Funny, melancholy, all the emotions are there; "This song was written about my Grandma, it can be about your Grandma too" and the next song will be about a guy who makes her want to "whack it". As Chris said, just go!

awesome writing by both your and her, Chris (as usual). Carsie is a true gem, one of my favorite people you've introduced us to over the years.
