Great episode! Uncle Dan was an interesting guy and I much enjoyed this conversation! You two had a great chemistry. I loved Dan’s pick up line:) it was simple yet there is something to it. I’ll try to use it next time I’ll have no idea how to approach somebody. Sorry for your loss Chris.
Thanks Chris for bringing this back. Your uncle seemed like a good hearted and down to earth person.
Taking away your comments of your uncle and how he didn’t apologize for who he was and a prior inquiry on what does it mean to be a ‘man.’ Spending time with these thoughts, and would love to dive deeper into this dialogue as a community.
Best wishes to you and your family during these difficult times.
I love stories like Uncle Dan’s. Hearing from elders who lived full lives on their terms drives me to chase the same. I’ve got an Uncle Dan relationship in my life and I can relate to how meaningful it is. Thanks for sharing Chris, wishing you comfort and clam.
My Mom's birthday Chris. She was born on a Friday the 13th, and said those are actually lucky days. In fact, Feb 12 was the day Lesley and I got married, 13th Mom's birthday, 14th Valentines.
Loved hearing your Uncle talk about what he loves about women! Love that he can’t relate to guys who only talk about sports. Isn’t that part of the problem with America? Men raised to not think for themselves and puppet the phenomenal rubbish of Corporate America? Anyway, I’m sorry for your loss, could hear the ache in your voice. Thank you for your podcast and posts, I always get so excited when another one drops! You always have interesting and inspiring conversations.
Chris, what an amazing soul you had in your life, a true gift many never receive. The finality of death is the hardest part but your uncles energy absolutely is living on in the universe. Thank you for sharing Uncle Dan with us. Stay strong and sending love.
It sounds like your uncle had a bright and unapologetic spirit to him, which shines through beautifully on the recording. I even appreciated his practical advice on approaching women directly. May I be as self-assured and honest. Rest in peace, Dan.
That abrupt transition on the outro hit me hard in the best possible way.
Chris, this episode touched me deeply in many ways. My mother's birthday was February 12th. Coming up on 10 years since she passed. She was my grandmother, and adopted us 5 kids when she was in her 60s. I wish I had been older when she died so that I could've had the relationship with her that you seem to have had with your uncle. There's so many stories she told me that I was too young to recall now. What I wouldn't give to have a recording of her telling her life story, her joys and her sorrows. I am so sorry for your loss. I don't think I'd heard the episode you clipped from but I will definitely be revisiting it now. In particular I loved hearing about his respect and love of women. I relate to his experience of being with younger women and the judgment that brings from some people. I'm 18 years my husband's junior, and he's always treated me as an equal and more. Thank you for sharing this beautiful conversation, and I loved the outro by Pink Floyd. Much love.
Chris , I know how much you loved your uncle from various mentions and stories over the years. Wishing you well in this time. Everyone needs to have an uncle like that. Peace
Thanks Chris. I love this podcast. I appreciate the unpredictable upload schedule as we follow you through the ups and downs of life. Its always a special treat to receive a notification of a fresh upload and always come at the best time. All the best
Cheers from Western Canada Eh. I am sure Spain is treating you well. My father transitioned on to the next realm a day before your Uncle. I’m looking forward to listening to this one. I’ve enjoyed the times you’ve talked about Dan.

Great to revisit this episode. It seems like you really learnt a lot from Dan - almost like he helped you to become Uncle Chris in some ways. Cheers.

Darwin and Lincoln were born on the 12th, too. Lots of Aquarians out there!

May he rest in peace…or soar through the heavens learning to fly.
Sorry to hear about your uncle, he sounds like such a nice dude. Its palpable how much of an impact he had on you.
