A therapist with a practice based in San Diego specializing in Addiction Treatment and Personal Transformation, John was Principal Investigator for MAPS’ (Multidisciplinary Assn. for Psychedelic Studies)  pilot study investigating the efficacy of the plant medicine ibogaine in the treatment of opiate addiction. John studied and was trained in Clinical Psychology at the California Institute for Integral Studies, and was formerly a resident at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, Ca. A Zen Buddhist practitioner for over 30 years, John is the founder of Blue Dragon Zen Community in San Diego. John is an avid hiker and high altitude mountaineer.
