When you buy a half-baked house, you end up with two lists of tasks: essential and non-essential. I’m happy to report that the essential list is getting shorter, even if the non-essential list is growing. I’m learning to tile, build a vanity, install various electrical stuff, treat exposed wood against sun/rain damage, and so on. Progress has slowed down this month due to the sudden arrival of ravenous mosquitos. I’m not talking about a few little bastards buzzing around. I’m talking about swarming clouds that drive you inside the house or insane. I’m talking about fuckers that will bite you THROUGH your jacket and shirt, and don’t give a damn what you sprayed on yourself. Still, the sky and the mountains are awesome and I guess the summer bugs are what keep the population down and dirty. Happy Independence Day.
Chris if think the bugs are bad in Colorado, come down to Florida for the added pleasure of 125% humidity, end of days rain storms and heat that melts your face as soon as you exit the confines of any AC treated space. With that said, Life Is Good here in south Florida. Mango season is in full swing, free diving conditions have been EPIC, spearfishing bountiful and we have FINALLY started reconstruction of our home in the wake of the April 12th flood here in Fort Lauderdale. I was able to connect with another Tangentialist down here and hope to set up a meet & greet soon. We are heading your way to visit family in Denver in Oct. sent you an email so hit me back if you and Anya have the bandwidth to host a couple of Cabo-bound (celebrating my 56th with Sammy Hagar) travelers come fall.
