Greetings from Crestone, CO, where we’re buried in a couple feet of fresh snow and digging the winter energy. Lots of warm fire, hot baths and fresh bread. We took a quick trip down to Phoenix last week to see a play directed by Anya’s dad, which was fantastic. Soaked up some sun and family love, then rolled back up here just in time to get dumped on by one of the biggest snowstorms anyone can remember.
Like a squirrel preparing for cold weeks ahead, I’ve been banking lots of really good podcasts. Conversations coming your way soon include Amanda Knox describing her ordeal in Italian prisons and how being accused (and mistakenly convicted) of murder has affected her current life; a very deep conversation with a wonderful young Spanish guy who was raised by a man hopelessly in love with this guy’s mother, who was a sex-worker; an actor/writer/spiritual activist who shared a room with Kevin Spacey when they were students at Julliard; and a guy who worked in military intelligence in Iraq and Afghanistan before coming back to the States and running into some Sasquatch (Sasquatches?) in Colorado. Typical month around here.
We’re accepting applications for this year’s Sex at Dawn retreat up in Whitefish, MT. If the prospect of hanging out with wonderful people in a beautiful place having authentic no-bullshit conversations about relationships, sexuality, movement, meaning, mortality and much more appeals to you, please consider joining us. And it’s not all talk. Cameron and Melayne are highly accomplished martial artists and movement specialists, and Anya will be leading contact improv sessions where we’ll explore the physical manifestations of some of the material being covered in workshops. Food from the garden, swims in Montana lakes, freight trains rumbling in the distance, sauna, cold plunge, fire circles, stars in the sky. Hope to see you there.
