Hey all.
Well, after a year of meandering our way around this spinning ball of confusion, love, hate, beauty, and despair, we’re back where we started: in a little rented house in Crestone, CO with a great view of the Sangre de Cristos. I’ll write about why I love this place in subsequent posts, but in brief, it’s everything Los Angeles isn’t: quiet, clean, calm, remote, under a huge, clear sky.
I’ve started a new premium series called “What Makes This Song Interesting (To Me).” It’s just what it sounds like. The first post is about Beck’s “Country Down.” I’m looking forward to dissecting songs by the Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Steely Dan, and George Michael, among many others.
Now that I’ll be stable for at least the winter, I’ll be writing more frequently here and maybe working on another book I’ve been mulling for a while. Or maybe I’ll just spend more time looking at the sky and shaking my head at the course of history.
As always, thank you for your time and mental space. Sending love out to all of you.

That’s awesome. I’m so excited to see your beautiful written words. And hopeful for the book as well. Much love to you both. Smoochies to Anya.
