I’m a believer, and so are you. We are Homo credentis (the hominid that believes).
Our species has demonstrated many times that we will kill and die for imaginary belief systems. For many, if not most of us, our "faith" in our God is, quite literally, more important to us than the reality of exploding bombs and orphaned kids. Our layered, compartmentalized brain almost seems designed to deceive itself. We are a dreamy, delusional species by nature.
It’s vital to keep this in mind when considering extraordinary claims, like those made by Ky Dickens in her blockbuster podcast, “The Telepathy Tapes.”
(Note: I haven’t listened to the series. I’ve listened to her interview with Rick Rubin on his podcast, Tetragrammaton, and Anya and I have had long, sometimes contentious conversations about it. (She’s listened to the whole thing.) So if you’re primed to be defensive about skepticism concerning the claims made in the podcast, there’s your reason to dismiss what I’m about to say.)
