These guys are a lot of fun to listen to. Clearly good friends, the three hosts (Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett) have a banter that is almost always amusing as worst, hilarious at best. But about an hour into this episode with Michael Lewis (author of Moneyball, The Big Short, and a slew of other fantastic books), they go someplace very deep, asking Michael about the tragic death of his 19 year-old daughter, Dixie, in a car accident about a year ago. The ensuing conversation is heart-wrenchingly honest and wise.
Inside, Bo Burnham
Although I get tired of “musical” sounding songs pretty quickly, this project kept my attention right through. It’s hilarious, touching, surprising … but mostly, it feels like being in the presence of a volcano of creativity. Self-aware as a hall of mirrors. Really, really good.
