For the past week or so, I’ve been pulling bins out of our storage locker and choosing what lucky items to bring into the little cabin we’ve rented and what to return to the perpetual purgatory of waiting for me to finally grow up and own a structure big enough to house my stuff (and me).
Gradually, a third category has emerged: useful stuff that I’m never going to use, so there’s no point in keeping it. I could try to sell it, but I’d rather give things to friends than sell them to strangers. Since I consider you my friends, here’s a bunch of stuff that’s yours for the taking. (Stay tuned, as I imagine there will be more of these give-aways as I unpack more stuff.)
The only rules are:
You pay shipping (if you’re outside the US, I’m afraid none of this stuff is worth what you’d pay to ship it).
You want it for yourself or someone you love (not to re-sell it).
You’re a subscriber to my Substack.
I’ll pick randomly from requests that come in within 24 hours of posting this (for stuff multiple people want), and if nobody requests an item in 24 hours, I’ll open it up to free subscribers on a first-come, first-served basis. (24 hours has passed. Not much left, but let me know if you want the ResMed AirSense10 accessories).
If you want something, please send me an email at thatchrisryan@gmail.com with “giveaway” in the subject line, include your name and mailing address.
Do you have sleep apnea? Do you use the ResMed AirSense 10? If so, here’s a travel bag, 12v car adapter, house current adapter, climate control tube, and a bunch of other stuff. Mine died, and I got the 11, so I don’t need this stuff, but it would cost hundreds of dollars to buy.
This is a knock-off GoPro I bought a few years ago, thinking I should document my adventurous lifestyle. Turns out, my lifestyle isn’t all that adventurous. A mini-SD card is included. (Claimed)
This is one of many travel microphones I’ve bought over the years. It’s small, cleverly designed, works great. I just have too many of them. (Claimed)
Here’s another. Works great. Cool design. (Claimed)
This is a mixer for podcasters who record directly into a computer. Since I generally record multi-person podcasts into my Zoom, I don’t need this. (Claimed)
Super portable inflatable travel pillow. Craig Adams recommended it. It’s great, but I’d rather crunch up my down jacket and use that. (Claimed)
Speaking of down jackets, I think I bought this one in South Africa a few years ago. It’s pretty warm, and has a hood. Definitely lightweight. Large. (Claimed)
I paid way too much for this vaporizer when I bought it. At the time, it was state of the art, but I imagine the art has advanced considerably since then (2014?). I don’t even know if it works, to be honest. But it feels solid. (Claimed)
Bluetooth speaker. Plays music, or podcasts. Handheld. (Claimed)
2TB hard drive. 2TB! I remember when a gig was a lot of memory (and gas cost $1.25 a gallon and we had the commies on the run). I think I erased all the porn. (Claimed)
Lapel mics. Two with Apple connectors (record on your iPhone!) and one with a regular connector. Seems like I never used them. (Claimed)
Very generous my friend! I’m in Calca Peru drinking San Pedro cactus for a couple months. The blow up pillow would be great for ceremonies but being out of the country makes it a no go. I’m managing fine with bunched up shirts and other soft stuff. I hope it finds a good home otherwise. You’re are good man! Stay well my friend!
BTW, the San Pedro cactus is life changing, in a profoundly good way! So much insight and positive adjustments to the trajectory of my life. All you fellow Tangentialists should consider it if you need an adjustment or are just seeking adventure. I’m at a wonderful place in the Sacred Valley of Peru called Huachuma Wasi. If the calling fits, it’d be great to see a fellow Tangentialist. Stay well all!
What a grear idea. This message will reach lots of lucky buyers. And thanks for your comments aabout me on your earlier entry.
