From where I sit, the controversy over JK Rowling’s comments about trans issues is a glaringly clear example of how insanely intolerant and unreasonable some self-proclaimed trans rights activists are. (Check out this podcast for a really well-done exploration of the situation). This guy, who appears to be a professor of critical thinking holding office hours, does a great job of calmly unpacking what passes for “thought” in some quarters these days. Teaching at its finest.
Interesting to see Robert Sapolsky loosen up a bit with his daughter. Some interesting topics discussed in this one. I love the whole series.

Eva Cassidy died at 33, virtually unknown despite having one of the most beautiful voices imaginable. I first heard her singing through some cheap speakers in a used bookstore in Harrisburg, PA in 1998. I immediately found the owner and asked him, “Who is that?” I’ve been listening ever since.
