I think it was Milan Kundera who said he wrote novels because his kids didn’t listen to him. Well, I don’t even have any kids to be ignored by, so I’m just a step or two from standing on a box down by the post office, warning strangers that the end is nigh.
To clear my head (and keep what’s left of my sanity) I need someone to share things with. I guess that would be you. So here’s a bunch of stuff I’ve read, watched, and listened to that I’d harass my kids to check out, if I had any.

Someone sent me a link to this humble little film a few years ago. It was someone involved in this film they’d made about their friend. I watched the first few minutes, just to be polite, then couldn’t stop. Years later, I still think about it often. Wow.
If you dig small spaces that are so well designed that they somehow “contain” more energy, beauty, and space than much larger dwellings, dig this joint. The guy seems like he’d be a bit of a handful as a friend (I know some people like him). But you’ve gotta hand it to him. Maybe he thinks he’s smarter than everyone else because he actually is!
I’ve been reading John Horgan for years. His is a very smart voice on science and the problems around how science is perceived by the general public. I highly recommend this article about the so-called “replication problem.”
