I got an email from a guy named Nick, who suggested I might like to meet his buddy, Ryley, who happened to be in Baja. I could sense the love and respect Nick felt for his friend. And then fate placed Ryley just a few miles down the coast from where we were camped out, so it all came together pretty organically. Here are a few lines from Nick’s email to me, which turned out to be very accurate:
“Ryley is the kind of guy who can easily laugh at himself, always looks for the lesson in situations when it feels like everything is falling apart, and knows how to land on his feet. He listens to his gut and doesn't do something if it doesn't feel right. Everyone I have ever met through Ryley has been kind, thoughtful, and interesting. Ryley isn't selling anything or looking for attention (hence the escape to Baja.)”
We should all be lucky enough to have friends like that.
