“What’s Up, Doctopher?” is a free monthly newsletter. To gain access to bonus content including BROMAs, TOMAs, travel updates, AMAs, What Makes this Book Great?, the DJCPR series, and a monthly open thread where you can interact with the Tangentially Speaking community (this month’s is open to everyone, and we’re talking about whether we’d reincarnate as the same sex or not). Please consider becoming a paid subscriber for $5/month or $50/year (which is less than a buck a week!). If you’ve already subscribed, much obliged.
Hey all. Late and brief this month. As some of you know, I had to make an unexpected trip to Spain, then caught covid on the way back. So everything’s a bit discombobulated around here. The good news is that I’m rapidly recombobulating and expect to be fully combobulated shortly.
I saw the aurora borealis last night for the first time in my life. Who knew I’d see it above freakin Colorado? Anyway, photos of the northern lights are like baby photos. They all look the same, but the person showing them to you doesn’t realize it. I won’t show you any babies, but look at this purple sky! I’ll also throw in a shot of some of our neighbors and the Sangre de Cristos for good measure.
Some news:
Our great friend Carsie Blanton is stopping by Crestone to do a show in this little town on November 8th. If you’ll be anywhere near here, get you a ticket! She’s on a North American tour, and will be in Durango on the 7th and Boulder on the 9th. Check her schedule to see when she’ll be playing near you. She’s special. If Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Joni Mitchell, Carol King, and John Hiatt had a love child….
Anya’s putting together a new website for me and would like to swap in some new photos of people enjoying our merch, so if you have a photo of yourself wearing a t-shirt you bought from my mom, and you wouldn’t mind being featured on my new site, please send it to us. (You can just reply to this message.)
